Board Members

Chairman: Chuck Williams

My commitment to this proposal is to support the vision and mission of the academy to educate and develop future military leaders, and to work with other board members, staff, and student to do the same. Our job is to work with the State of Utah, establish the school, get it up and running, develop the curriculum and procedures to keep it going, recruit staff and students, and do the best job possible to make this endeavor a success. The expertise I bring is varied including: military, public administration, HRM, logistics, and education: geography, geology, history, and, political science. I also have a great deal of background in planning, developing, organizing, and executing special projects.

Vice Chair: Curt Oda

Curtis Oda was born on January 4, 1953 in Ogden, Utah. He attended Clearfield High School, and later attended both Weber State University and Utah State University, where he earned degrees in both Business Administration and Economics, and Business Management and Economics. He has been working as a private/casualty insurance agent since 1974, and currently works for Heiners Insurance Center. Oda and his wife, Nancy, have three children: Cyndi, Lindsi, and Ryan.[4]

Oda served as a State Delegate from 1991-2001 and a Davis County Delegate from 1991-2003 for the Republican Party. He also served as a member of the Davis County Republican Party Platform Committee from 1997-2003, and as a member of the Clearfield City Council from 1996-2003.[5] He was elected on November 2, 2004, and was last elected on November 6, 2012. During the 2014 Legislative Session, he served on the House Economic Development and Workforce Services Committee, the House Rules Committee, and the House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee.[6]

Secretary: Sherrain Reber

As an officer in the United States Army Reserve Command, I am passionate about military benefits, discipline and the highest levels of professionalism. I have extensive training in leadership and have experience in public relations, planning and executing communication strategies, and media facilitation. 

Member: Vickie McCall

Vickie McCall a realtor and life-long Utah resident has been active in military issues for thirty plus years.  She founded and chaired the Hill/DDO '95 Committee now known as the Utah Defense Alliance and successfully led the organizations through two Base Realignment and Closure Rounds.  She has been the President of the Ogden Weber Chamber of Commerce and has served as a 388th Honorary Commander, a Hill AFB LOGSTAR, a Falcon and has had several Gubernatorial appointments to include being a Commissioner for the Utah Alcohol and Beverage Control Commission.   She was appointed by Secretary of Defense William Cohen to Chair the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS) and is currently serving as a member of the USAF Chief of Staff's Civic Leader Group and the USAF Air Combat Commander's Civic Leader Group.  She chaired the Ogden Regional Hospital Board of Trustees for several years and is currently a  member of the Weber State University Goddard Business School Board. Among her many awards she most recently received an Honorary Doctor of Humanities Degree from Weber State University. Vickie is also a recipient of the Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award, was selected as a Hill AFB Wingman, and was honored by the Ogden Weber Chamber of Commerce as a Wall of Fame recipient.  She also received the  Lifetime Achievement award from the Northern Wasatch  Association of Realtors.
