Greetings, Parents and Cadets!

This year, we are trying something new. We are allowing our cadets to register for their own classes!! Please read this email and its accompanying attachments very carefully.

First, please note: Counselors will be available to cadets every Wednesday through June and July, from 9AM-1 PM. The school will be closed the week of the 4th of July, and on July 24th--the counselor will be here on Tuesday, July 23rd.  It is better to make an appointment, in order to ensure that you can speak with them. Please call the front office. If you have any questions about scheduling, or wish to have the counselor do it, please email or visit us.

Enclosed are three important documents: Aspire instructions for registering for classes, 2019-20 class schedule, and the course catalogs for both middle and high school.

At the front of the course catalog, please check the class requirements for each grade. Every 11th grader has had a credit check. If your cadet did not receive their paper, please have them stop by and ask the counselor for it. We tried to reach each cadet, but many were missing or did not respond to the call the last week of school. 

If your cadet has been registered for an English or Math class (it will show in their Aspire) they may not change it. Their class selection is based on their MAP score. If they want to retake the MAP test to be in a different class, they may come in T, W, or H from 9-11am. 

NEW CADETS: You must come in and take the Math and English MAP test screener before registering or your math/English class choices may change. The MAP screener test may be taken T, W, or H from 9-11am. An appointment isn't needed. Again, The school will be closed the week of July 4th. 

SEMINARY: Our bus will take the cadets to and from seminary durin A1 and B1 periods. This seminary now offers early morning, but UMA will not be providing transportation for this. In order to register your cadet for seminary, please contact them directly. Putting them in seminary on their schedule does NOT register them for the class, just holds space in their schedule for them to attend!

If your cadet wishes to be a TA, Office Aid, or HS Peer Tutor (they will work with the middle school), please have them email their counselor.

Scheduling Windows: 

  • Grades 7, 8, 12th: Opened June 3rd, 2019
  • Grades 9, 10, 11th: Opened June 10th, 2019
