Hello, I am Raie Gene Robison, I am the UMA American Sign Language (ASL) teacher. I fell in love with this language when I was in Jr. High school, (um…many years ago) and being a visual learner myself,I found this a great language to learn and use. Just think about all the places this language can come in handy. For example; underwater, loud parties, places where you must be silent, or if you ever have a mouth full of food, BUT most importantly communicating with the Deaf.
I have been married for 20 years and have a wonderful husband who will testify that I use my hands a lot when I speak and four amazing children who are all learning and using this language. I love to be outdoors hiking, camping, or gardening. When I am not doing these things, you will find me with my nose in a good book and also staying up way too late to try and finish it.
I am excited to teach you this beautiful visual language and help you learn about the fantastic history and culture of this language as well. See you all soon.
